Morphos - Form Genesis - Origin
Morphogenesis is a branch of biology which concerns itself with the origins of form, asking questions such as, if the DNA in our right fibia and the DNA in our left fibia are identical, why do the bones form in mirror image to each other? In his book "Presence of the Past - Morphic Resonance and the Habits of Nature", biologist Rupert Sheldrake proposes a theory of morphic fields (in the sense of electrical or gravitational fields) with which everything resonates and through that resonance finds the information it needs to....morph. His theory is an eery echo of the ancient Vedic notion of the Akashic mixed with the modern quantum phyics theory of a guantum field underlying reality.
It was the coinciding events of my being in the midst of reading Sheldrake's book and a happy accident in my studio which sparked this series.
